Mike and Michelle Just of Not Just Kitchens, Pukekohe.

One visit to the Not Just Kitchens Showroom in West Street, Pukekohe, leaves you gasping and saying: “Wow”!

The designer/manufacturer of these beautiful designs is Mike Just and one finds it difficult to express the right words to describe his instinctive flair for designing and building such stylish, high quality kitchens.

Mike has been in the business for 28 years, beginning his career as an apprentice cabinet maker in Otahuhu.

He built a good sized business after branching out on his own, from a garage with two employees, building up to 18 staff in a large factory in Otahuhu.

However, his health suffered so he sold the business with the intention of staying on as a designer but, things did not work out so he left and he and his wife, Michelle, built their home in Karaka.

Not Just Kitchens were back in Pukekohe

It was not too long before the new owner closed the factory doors and Mike discovered that the company name had become available once more, so he was able to take the name ‘Not Just Kitchens’ back. This gave him the inspiration to continue what he is good at, designing and manufacturing kitchens.

A big thank you for bringing our dream kitchen to life.  “You have designed, created and delivered to us the perfect kitchen.

Mike and Michelle moved to Glenbrook Road, established a factory and three years ago, he and Michelle opened the Not Just Kitchens Showroom in Pukekohe. Over that time they have developed six modern kitchen displays, all under the same roof.

It is a family business: The kitchens are designed by Mike; Michelle attends to the administrative side and the manufacturing takes place at their Glenbrook factory which is managed by their son, Shaun.

Each one of the six kitchens has been exhibited at the Home Shows at one time or another and, last year they took 2 kitchens to the Home Show, one black and one white. With people flocking to Not Just Kitchens’ stand it provided Mike and Michelle with the opportunity of promoting Pukekohe.

“It worked well, people were overwhelmed with our exhibit, ” Mike says.

“We did attract people from Auckland to Pukekohe but even now the showroom is still Auckland’s best kept secret.

“We have been operating under the radar for the past ten years but now we are ready to tell more people about our kitchens, particularly local residents.”

Every one is truly a stunning work of art. Each kitchen makes its own unique statement; it is developed through Mike’s interaction with clients. He assists them from the first consultation right through the design, manufacturing and installation process.

The Pukekohe and Auckland locals love Mike’s work

Clients come from all over the Auckland Region, and further afield, some of whom have provided testimonials that show just how talented Mike is.

Larry and Stella Stocks of Albany have written: “Mike created a stunning work of art. We were so impressed with his expertise and finished product we asked him to work his magic on our laundry. The finished products are a credit to his dedication, knowledge and experience…”

Mr and Mrs Thomas of Remuera said: “A big thank you for bringing our dream kitchen to life.  “You have designed, created and delivered to us the perfect kitchen. We were very impressed by the quality of service you provided.”

Jim and Diane Allan formerly of Karaka were also impressed. They stated: “Our kitchen is great to work in; a wonderful kitchen with a big Wow! Factor. “We can truly recommend Not Just Kitchens Ltd for their professional approach and the quality of the finished job. Thanks Guys.”

Mike has the instinctive flair and unique passion to transform a client’s kitchen. He helps them visualise what they would like, draw up a concept and then bring their ‘dream kitchen’ into reality.
